Visit and Lecture by Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri - Sunday, July 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.

His Holiness, Swami Vidyadhishananda offered two free public fellowships in Lexington, the first of which fellowship took place
on Saturday, July 9th at 10am at the Bharatiya Temple and Cultural Center
(3050 N. Cleveland Road, Lexington, KY 40516) on the topic of 'Meditation in the Temple Worship Tradition'. The second
fellowship took place on Sunday, July 10th at 11am at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Lexington
on the topic of 'Yogic Breath in Movement and Stillness' and was hosted by Open Heart Yoga (3564 Clays Mill Road, Lexington, KY 40503).
Both fellowships included classical Indian dance followed by Sanskrit peace chants by His Holiness and an hour long spiritual discourse.
Personal blessings (darshan line) were provided at the end of each fellowship.
Presented By: Swami Vidyadhishananda is the spiritual head of the
Self Enquiry Life Fellowship, a nonprofit organization for the preservation and dissemination of the universal
teachings embedded in the ancient Sanskrit texts. Swami Vidyadhishananda belongs to the spiritual lineage of the
Kriya Yoga Masters, including Paramahamsa Swami Hariharananda and Paramahamsa Swami Yogananda, the author of
'Autobiography of a Yogi'. Swami Vidyadhishananda is frequently hailed as an emissary of peace and for lucidly
disseminating Sanskritic wisdom-teachings for the benefit of modern society. Swami Vidyadhishananda, teaches spiritual philosophy with exquisite clarity and guides seekers with
Himalayan meditation techniques related to ancient Sanskrit philosophies, such as Vedanta, Samkhya, and Yoga.
Vedanta is a philosophy taught by the Vedas, the most ancient scriptures of India. Its basic teaching is that
our real nature is divine. God, or Brahman as it is called, exists in every living being. Religion is therefore
a search for self-knowledge, a search for the divine within ourselves. We should not think of ourselves as
needing to be "saved". We are never lost. At worst, we are living in ignorance of our true nature. Vedanta
acknowledges that there are many different approaches to God, and all are valid. Any kind of spiritual practice
will lead to the same state of self-realization; thus Vedanta teaches respect for all religions.
His Holiness, Swami Vidyadhishananda is among the very few available in the West who has been awarded the degree of Mahamahopadhyay (Great
Ordained Teacher) in India due to his yogic, mystic and scholarly interpretation of Sanskrit literature.

Herbs, Oils, and Essentials, Oh My!
Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 1:00-3:30 p.m.
In this workshop, Dr. Indigo discussed a beginner’s overview of common medical herbs, oils, and essences. The workshop began by
presenting a new outlook on many common herbs that you probably already have in your kitchen or can easily pick up locally. He
discussed in detail each herb, common uses, and ways of administration, continuing with some of the leading Chinese herbs. This
part of the workshop focused on how many common herbs can benefit your health, every day living, and possibly change or save a life.
The herbs in this workshop would be ideal in anyone's first aid kit. He distributed handouts with information on each herb and a small
starter kit with some of the herbs. The second half of the workshop focused on the differences between essential oils and flower
essences. He discussed differences in quality, production, and uses. To build upon other lectures in the series, Dr. Indigo focused
on oils/essences used for emotions and chakra healing and work.
Presented By: Dr. Indigo, a local ND (Naturopathic Doctor) with a Masters in Herbology.

A 6 Week Session, starting Monday, January 10, 2011 at 6:30-7:45 p.m.
This will be a 6-week exploration into your sacred power as a woman and how to uncover it again. Through using the intention of weight
loss, we will discover how intuition is the key element that is missing in most weight loss plans. As a society we are gaining weight

food to falsely bring about that fulfillment. In this workshop you will reconnect with your spirit and learn tools to let go of the
unwanted weight.

Dates include: JAN 10, JAN 17, JAN 31, FEB 21, FEB 28, & MAR 7 of 2011.
